Kentucky Black Gold Compost

We have been making compost here at Triple J Farm for 10 years now, but only in the past 5 years we began selling it to the public! Correctly made compost will have NO SMELL!!! The concept we use is stacking rows of unusable products such as vegetables, horse & cattle bedding and landscape clippings. These items are then turned on a regular basis, which allows for a carbon to break down the matter. As the heat rises in the rows, unwanted seeds, like weed seeds will die, leaving the good nutrition aspect to come through.

We sell our Compost in several ways
at the farm and at the markets!
 Large Bags - $7.00
 Small Bags - $5.00
 Bulk Compost - 1 yard buckets - $20.00
Delivery also Available!!

Rejuvenate Soil & Grow It Naturally!

Composting is a natural process where tiny beneficial microbes digest and transform organic materials into rich, clean soil.  Every year plants and lawns use nutrients & organic matter throughout the seasons. Soils & nutrients are also washed away.  By adding compost to your lawns, gardens, landscapes and crops, you are giving back to your soil and increasing bio diversity.

Compost Adds the Following Values Back to Soil:

Nitrogen, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorous and Organic ph Buffer

It enhances soil for:

Crops, Gardens, Pastures, Turfs, Flowers, Plants, Landscapes
and Roadsides

How to Use Compost

Establish Potted Plants:
Add 1-inch to the top of the container

On your Garden before Planting:
Broadcast and lightly incorporate into the soil to a maximum of 3 days

Establish Plants and Shrubs:
Add 1" to 2" layer around the base of each plant or shrub; or use as mulch. You can also mix with mulch!

For Garden Annuals and Perennials:
Apply 30% compost when planting or potting, mix compost in with rest of soil

For Trees:
Apply a 2" to 3" layer around the base of trees, keeping a 4" distance from the trunk

On Your Lawn:
Broadcast thinly over lawn (1/2" layer), let rain filter compost into the soil

For Crops:
Incorporate compost 1/4" to 1" into soil or specialty crops 1/4" to 2", or use as mulch

Field Applications:
Light Soil: 7-12 tons per acre - Heavy Soil: 3-5 tons per acre - incorporate into the soil 3" to 4"
